I love sinus infections...

But really...who doesn't? At least the meds are fun.

Anyhoo, finished two (count em! two!) Jayne hats this weekend. Wool of the Andes is fabulous to work with. I will absolutely use it again. Now, the old man and I can be matchy-matchy in our hats.

Finished my crazy scarf...it may be a little too crazy for me. It knitted up quickly as I was waiting in the doctor's office on Monday.

I'm working on that darned Twilight Zone sock. We're going on a road trip this weekend, so that means "knitting time!". I'm trying to decide my next project....I have some Knitpicks Memories in the Smores colorway, and I was thinking about Monkey from Knitty.com. Who knows? I tend to have project a.d.d. these days. Who am I kidding? I have regular a.d.d. everyday!

Work has been a total suck-fest this week, so I'm ready for some well needed tv & knitting time tonight. I bet I can get through the heel of this sock while watching the Office, Grey's, 30 Rock, and Nashville Star. (God, I love tivo.)

The man is supposed to help me post pics this weekend, so my many fans can do more than read words. Words, words, words.

Friday!!! Woo hoo!!!

I'm a sucky blogger. And I can't figure out how to get pics on here. Because I'm computer illiterate.

Here is what is on/off the needles:
Off
-Hedera's are done! They're kind of wonky, but after blocking, they should be cute. I modified the pattern due to the yarn I was using, but they turned out pretty cool.
On
- My mom gave me this funky yarn for Christmas....it's a crazy fluffy mess with extra long eyelash mixed in. It's way crazy, but I decided to cast it on just to see what it looks like. It looks like...crazy. And I like it, so I'm doing a long, funky scarf with it.
- The second "Twilight Zone" sock. The first was ugly, but I'm having problems with just having one finished sock. It haunts me, so I'm making it's mate.
- My Knit Picks order came yesterday, and I'm casting on a Jayne Cobb hat tonight. The husband watched "The Message" last week, and was asking about the hat. I had already decided to make him one as a surprise, so I guess I need to go ahead and get it made.

Oh well...back to work and watching the clock!

Uninspiring Gloves

Well, after starting, restarting, starting, and restarting a pair of fingerless gloves from One Skein, I've frogged for the last time. I just wasn't feeling it. So...to get over my malaise, I decided to cast on Hedera from Knitting in Cascade Pima Tencel. I love this yarn, and I've adjusted the pattern to make up for it, since it's a little chunkier. It gives it a fun look. Love that yarn...love the color.

Mittens from hell

Well, King Kong's mittens are finished. They're giant. I can't wait to felt them and get pics up. I'm making a hat to go with them, but I'm not going to felt it. I think I might rip out what I've done and do a smaller Calometry instead. Who knows? Oh well....Yay for the weekend so I can knit a lot!!!!

Blah, blah. blah

I totally would rather be at home than at work today. I still can't get the digital cam to work so I can post pics, so the blog will be boring for right now.

Finished the first "Twilight Zone" sock, and IT IS HIDEOUS. So, I can either frog it, or make another and have hideous house socks. I'm just not feeling it right now.

I finished my first mitten, and it's huge! I'm done with the band on the second, and I can't wait to see my finished product. I think they're going to be supercute!

Until later....

I'm a bad, bad blogger.

I've been such a blogging slacker. One of my resolutions is to actually maintain a knitting blog in 2007. I've compiled some other resolutions (knitting and otherwise): 1. Knitting Blog 2. Lose 10 lbs. 3. Tackle cables (that scares the crap out of me) 4. complete 10 pairs of socks 5. Learn to spin.

I spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day starting on number 4. I have two skeins of Bernat Sox that the hubby gave me for my birthday, so I'm doing a pair of simple socks (using a lion brand pattern) out of them. I had one skein of pink and one of blue, so I'm doing a stripe. (That's why I chose the simple pattern). I turned the heel on sock one last night.

Here's my knitting queue for the next month:
1. Finish blue and pink simple socks...now known as the "Twilight Zone Socks", because that's what I watched nonstop for two days while working on them.
2. Fingerless mitts from OneSkein...I have some grey fingering weight that I'm going to use.
3. Felted mittens. Mom gave me some "Felt it" yarn and a mitten pattern for Christmas, so I better cast that on!
4. Find something to use all of the alpaca that I got for Christmas. Looking for suggestions....When I get the camera working, I'll post pics.

Happy New Year!!!

I'm here

So I decided to create a blog to talk about knitting. I have a MySpace page, but I wanted a place to record my knitting projects where my non-knitter friends wouldn't make fun of me. (Silly non-knitting friends).

I have been knitting for almost 5 years, and just now got lured into the world of sock knitting. I'm working on my first sock pair, actually on the second sock, using a simple sock pattern from Stephanie Pearl McPhee's Knitting Rules book. I'll try and post pics when I kitchener up the second toe.

I'm also beginning my holiday knitting, doing various scarves and hats for friends and family.

Well, this is the end of my first post...Ta, ta.
